Rev. David Hertweck

Rev. David Hertweck serves as the Lead Pastor of Trinity Assembly of God in Clay, New York. His journey with Trinity began in 2017, following the passing of his father, Thomas J. Hertweck, the church's founding pastor. David's mother, Eunhee, who co-led the church since 1999, supported his transition into leadership, emphasizing the continuity of their family's ministry legacy .

Before assuming his current role, David dedicated 12 years as Trinity's youth pastor and later served as the Youth and Chi Alpha Director for the New York Ministry Network for seven years. His passion for youth ministry is evident in his authorship of resources like Good Kids, Big Events & Matching T-Shirts, The Word and the Spirit, and Better Talks, which aim to equip leaders in effective ministry practices .

David holds a Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership and is recognized for his engaging speaking style, often addressing topics on leadership and church ministry at various conferences. He is also the creator of "Better Talks," a preaching masterclass designed to help communicators craft impactful messages .

Together with his wife, Erin, David is raising their three daughters—Lilia, Caraline, and Madelaine. His leadership at Trinity continues to focus on gospel transformation, aiming to impact every life in their community.

When can I start the course?

Whenever you want! LEADSOM is designed to let the student learn at their own pace. The only element of the course that has a specific date is the Live Session, which is offered 3 times per year, with the student only required to attend 1.

What happens if I have a question or need help?

You can ask your Live Instructor! Although LEADSOM classes are entirely online, that doesn't mean you're on your own. Every class has a subject matter expert who is available to answer questions and provide any help necessary. Additionally, they will grade your final projects as well as lead the Live Session discussion, so you will get to know them well.

I've already taken some Berean courses, do I get credit for them in LEADSOM?

Yes! All LEADSOM courses have a Berean equivalent so if you've already started your credentialing journey and want to continue with LEADSOM you can do that. In fact, on every course page you will be able to see the Berean equivalent. If you have any questions, just contact our registrar and submit your courses for a review.
