Biblical Fluency includes an understanding of:
- Biblical genres
- basic original language and translation issues
- Canon structure and formation (including authorship)
- survey-level content of each Biblical book
- basic Biblical timelines
- practical understanding of concrete exegetical processes

Theological Articulation includes:
- faithful and responsible use of Scripture in theological discourse
- ability to communicate in spoken and written contexts, the concepts entailed in and the implications of fundamental Christian doctrines
- an ability to articulate with clarity the AG doctrinal distinctives and where they stand in relation to historical and contemporary theologies
- a basic understanding of Church history
- embodying theological humility

Leadership includes:
- an understanding of the leader as a whole person whose vision of self and the world, values, and abilities are animated by the Holy Spirit
- performing executive roles and functions within formal a organization
- leading the ministry as a spiritual body
- overseeing and developing leaders
- functioning within the AG leadership structures
- understanding of ethical issues pertaining to organizations

Ministerial Character & Practice includes:
- attention to the individual moral life of the minister
- ability to articulate a mature sense of calling to ministry
- wise and charitable engagement with contemporary issues
- wise and ethical engagement with parishioners, staff, and members of the community
- understanding of pastoral/ministerial responsibilities
- grounding ministerial practices within mature understanding of Biblical theology
